SISU

Sisu is an untranslatable Finnish term that blends resilience, tenacity, integrity, and courage. The Sisu Mentoring Program positions undergraduates to address the barriers that can be experienced by those from gender-minority groups by providing students interested in STEM careers, regardless of gender, with resources, community, and inspiration.

Although we cultivate mentors from across the entire spectrum of science careers, including professors, we also focus on alternative paths and people with experience as STEM professionals outside of academia.
